Survive Bikini Bottom Resident Locations
Where each friend waits and which hive level opens the fog.
The five missing locals are the campaign checklist. This page is the where-to-find database. Step-by-step combat and escort rules live on how to rescue residents. Tick boxes on the rescue checklist.
All five must be walked to the Jelly Hive. They do not teleport because you pinged a compass. Daylight only if you like living.
Mr. Krabs — hive 2, Krusty Krab
First fog ring. Key on a nearby enemy, lock on the restaurant, short walk home. If this one wipes you, the problem is hive hunger or a night escort, not a missing secret room.
Squidward — hive 3, Chum Bucket Warehouse
Longer walk, tighter rooms. Construction Table timing lines up with this level, which is your reminder to become a crafter. Bring food. Lure, do not lemming.
Sandy — hive 4, Treedome
The mid-game skill check. She is hostile first. Beat the fight, then escort the restored Sandy. Spatula or saved ketchup recommended. This is where A-tier melee starts to feel fair.
Patrick — hive 5, Boating School
Three keys on vertical sets—towers, stairs, platforms. Mark all three before you celebrate the first. The walk home has jellyfish and Sea Bass. If dusk hits after key three, wait.
SpongeBob — hive 6, Chum Bucket maze
Last and nastiest. Extra locks, helmets, Plankton and robot stacks. Two loaded blasters or a Rockstar guitar plus a pad you can actually steer. This is the Day 100 wall. Do not enter if last night’s raid already broke the hive.
Other NPCs that are not residents
Mailman. Bag upgrades and simple deliveries. Do these while you haul jelly. Not an escort target.
Hostile Sandy / Plankton packs / skeletons / Sea Bass. Enemies. They do not become friends except for the Sandy fight turning over.
Sea Bear. Never a resident. Survive it, do not bag it.
How a resident walk actually ends
The interact is not the finish. The finish is the hive deposit animation. If you drop them at the circle edge because a raid started, you do not get the tick. Park them inside, then fight. If a teammate downs on the porch, the living player still finishes the handoff—same logic as dying next to a chest on Day 100.
Voice callouts that help: “key is gold,” “I am the kite,” “do not pad the hallway,” “meter is yellow, abort.” Voice callouts that do not help: “I see SpongeBob” at hive 3.
Why the compass lies
If the needle points into solid fog, your hive is too low. Feed jelly instead of walking the shoreline for an hour. Treasure maps help chests; they do not override hive gates.

When two compasses disagree, trust the hive level over the needle. A stale map from an earlier night can still show a building you cannot enter. Upgrade first, then walk. That habit saves more runs than a better class.
Photograph the landmark the first time you see it. Fog returns in some nights and a screenshot of the Krusty Krab door is faster than a voice argument about whether you already looted the key holder. The checklist wants a tick. Your phone can hold the proof. Walk them home or do not count them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where is SpongeBob?
Behind hive level 6 in the Chum Bucket maze. Earlier compass pings into fog are a level problem.
Is the Mailman a resident?
No. He is a quest and backpack NPC. The five residents are Krabs, Squidward, Sandy, Patrick, and SpongeBob.
Do rescues change the day counter?
Yes. Each successful escort adds extra days. That is how Day 100 montages happen.
